I have not posted many eagle photos recently so I decided to go and get a few new photos from the side of the road in Wild Cove, Corner Brook. Most of my eagle photos are from the Northern Pen. but without a doubt the best place to spot eagles is Wild Cove.

Lots of caribou from Gros Morne National Park

In recent years there never seems to be a shortage of caribou on the trails or roadside in within Gros Morne. I was asked how I get so close and the answer is I don’t really get that close but I am using a 400mm telephoto lens that allows me to stand way back and get these shots. Other times I have sat on the ground and waited for the caribou to come to me, which is a very hit or miss exercise. One thing is important when viewing caribou especially in the winter is that you do not disturb them because they have to dig though the snow to find food and if they leave the area they are in they will have to dig another hole in the snow wasting valuable energy they may need to get away from a predator.

On a recent winter outing we had a very curious squirrel, who wanted nothing more then a bite of my food or a bit of bread to hide in one of his many hiding places.

It is always fun to come across interesting things to photograph. I cam across this little cabin while snowshoeing in the Lewis Hills and took a few quick snaps. Not sure who owns it.
